🎉 SHE’S OFFICIALLY LICENSED! 🎉
We are SO excited to congratulate our very own Tara Laing on officially becoming a licensed mortgage professional! 🏡👏
Tara already had a BOATLOAD of mortgage knowledge before adding this accomplishment to her résumé. She started in the industry in 2012 and has experience in processing, underwriting, and loan officer assistant — so when we say she knows mortgages from just about every angle, we mean it!
And don’t worry, Loan Officers — she’s not going anywhere! Tara will still be our team’s go-to Loan Officer Assistant, working alongside our LOs and helping keep their loans moving. Being licensed simply gives her another tool in her toolbox and the ability to help our Loan Officers and their clients even more. 💪
And now, if a friend or family member comes to Tara needing a little mortgage help of their own… she can help them too! 😉🏡

🏡 Learning. Growing. Connecting. Advocating.

Over the past couple of days, a few members of Your Hometown Team had the opportunity to attend the Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association Annual Convention — spending time learning, connecting with fellow mortgage professionals, and gaining valuable insight into the industry we serve every day.

In mortgage, there is always something new to learn. Staying connected to what’s happening across our industry helps us continue to grow as professionals, better serve our clients and referral partners, and bring new ideas and knowledge back to our team.

We’re also excited to share that our Production Manager, Kristina Williams, is now serving as a Board Member of the Virginia Mortgage Bankers Association! 🎉

The VMBA brings mortgage professionals from across the Commonwealth together with a focus on education, advocacy, professional development, and strengthening Virginia’s mortgage industry.

For Kristina, serving on the board is another opportunity to continue learning while also giving back — working alongside other industry professionals, sharing ideas, advocating for our industry, and helping represent the mortgage professionals serving communities throughout Virginia.

We believe being better at what we do means never being finished learning. It means getting involved, asking questions, sharing knowledge, building relationships, and having a voice in the future of our industry.

A special thank you to Mortgage Equity Partners LLC for the continued support and encouragement to get involved, grow professionally, and represent our company and industry beyond the walls of our office. That support makes opportunities like this possible, and we’re grateful to be part of a company that values continued education and industry involvement.
