As we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, I think it’s important we don’t lose sight of the people who have made this such a great place to live.

So, I’d like to give a huge thank you to the farmers here in Mercer and Rock Island Counties and across the country for all you do.

Since the beginning, farmers have been the beating heart of this country. The legacy that you represent has fed millions and millions across the US and the world.

To all the farmers out there, thank you for all you do to keep this country (and the world) fed.

A huge Thank You to all that attended our tourniquet training this morning! We had a great turnout and hope attendees have a better understanding of how to use a tourniquet properly. A big thank you to our two presenters, Justin Hicks and Pam Westfall, for sharing real world experience on when a tourniquet has saved a life! All attendees received tourniquets to go on their farms or in their tractors across the County.

We are partnering with the Mercer County Farm Bureau to hold a training on how to properly use a tourniquet if a crisis were to happen on your farm! This training will be on July 23rd at the Aledo Fire Station from 9 to 11 am. Free tourniquets will be given out at this training. Coffee and donuts will be available before the program!
