This was posted by my daughter,Courtney, who lost her husband , Wade Jackson last week due to a boating accident.

It is not a tragedy if you die doing what you love.

Wade would tell me this over the course of our marriage and sadly last week it came true. If you know Wade, you know that being outdoors surrounded by nature was quite simply his passion. It was where he would gather strength and find his inner peace. And while it is still devastating, the girls and I are finding some measure of solace in knowing he was exactly where he wanted to be – outdoors, on the lake, surrounded by mountains.

The girls and I are making arrangements and will share them when we can. For now, we want you all to know how deeply grateful we are for all of the kindness we have received and the support we have been given. We will move forward one day at a time with love, compassion and all the best memories of our devoted daddy and husband.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year. No gifts are required just good food, family and friends to enjoy the camaraderie share stories, and catch up. Hope everyone enjoys their own special Turkey Day, I know we will!

Last weekend at the NMMI Homecoming celebration, I was honored by being inducted into the NMMI Hall of Fame. Quite an honor. I was surprised by my daughters, Megan from Chicago and Courtney from Albuquerque coming in for the celebration along with my brother Kim Thompson. It was also the 50th year of our Junior College graduation. It was an emotional moment for all.

Just received notice that I am to be inducted into the New Mexico Military Institutes Hall of Fame on 25 October 2019. what an honor!
