5.0 star review received on Experience.com for Bruce Anderson by Maria E D R - I had heard so many negative comments about reverse mortgages and was initially loathed to ever consider such an option. After I widowed suddenly and left with financial obligations that I had to meet, I first turned to the bank to discuss my situation and find a solution. All the bank representatives told me I should sell my home of over 40 years. I was not prepared to do that both physically and emotionally. A friend of mine who had been a broker contacted Bruce and told me I should meet with him to get more information on a reverse mortgaged that was insured by FHA and would allow me to stay in the house and still be able to sell it, if and when I was ready.

Although I was skeptical and apprehensive, I met with Bruce for almost an hour. From the moment we met, I felt heard and understood. He set me at ease and allowed me to pepper him with questions regarding the good, bad and concerning I had heard regarding reverse mortgages. He answered all questions without evasion or gile. My confidence in his knowledge grew and I decided to consider the product. We drew an initial plan based on my circumstances and agreed to continue the process after I had done my research and due diligence. We were caught up with the holidays and family issues and so, it took me over three months to decide to go forward. During that time, Bruce was available to answer questions and acquaint me with the reverse mortgage process without being agressive or pushy. We also developed a rapport. By the end of November, Bruce and I met again and went into high gear to meet a goal of early January to close.

The process was seamless and very efficient. I was given all the information I needed to obtain the necessary documentation and couseling services to meet all requirement. Everything was going smoothly when I ran into a glitch with my husband's credit card which was impacting my credit and threaten to delay the process.
Bruce was dogged about resolving the issue and assisted me in providing documentation which quickly satisfied the underwriters.
We met our deadline of January 5, 2026 to close and it was a very happy and satisfying experience.

I am very grateful, I had Bruce holding my hand along this journey and I am also relieved I can stay in my home and still have a future.
