PERIKIN was excited to sponsor the VA250 Car Project as it rolled through Middle Tennessee! The VA250 Car Project, which produced the World Stock Car land speed record earlier this year, was created to celebrate America's 250th anniversary through American engineering, manufacturing, innovation, education and the people who will build the country's future.

On the afternoon of September 11, 2026, PERIKIN remembered the events of 9/11 and looked towards the future as we gave demonstrations at the Hands-On Science Center of our a scaled-down wind tunnel with a VA250 Car replica inside the tunnel. It was epic!

It was a fun and fascinating day discussing engineering, aerospace, and STEM with UVA Engineering Students; Joey Arrington, the builder of the VA250 car; and the community that came out to support it.

PERIKIN is proud to donate to the Hands-On Science Center to help keep local kids exploring, experimenting, building, and asking the all-important question: “What happens if I try this?”

Supporting STEM education is about more than science and engineering. It’s about encouraging curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, and the confidence to turn an idea into something real. We’re excited to support the Hands-On Science Center and the work they do to make STEM fun and accessible for the next generation of thinkers, builders, and innovators.

PERIKIN team members Brandon Bradshaw and Christie Conlee spent Engineering Week at the Hands-On Science Center doing what any good STEM event calls for: testing things, building things, and launching things across the room. 🚀
