I love a good quote. It inspires me to do better and to do the things that seem difficult. Here are a few that have been on my mind lately;

These quotes get my mind thinking about the next generation. Educating those who will follow us is a vital part of a balanced life. This is especially true, I think, when it comes to financial education. How did you get to where you are today? The things you learned could so easily be lost…so are you passing that on to your children? Or to your successor?

This concept is incredibly important to my team. Not only are we seeking to keep learning ourselves, but we also want those who follow us to pick up right where we left off. Memorial Day is a time to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the United States. They will always be remembered. Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful Memorial Day holiday.

Do you want to reduce your risk of death by about 20%?

Your risk of heart disease to as much as 30%?

Then take a vacation.

One study showed that those who took a vacation every year over a nine-year period were able to lower their risk of death and heart disease.

There is growing research that links vacationing with positive health benefits. Better heart health, lower metabolic syndrome, lower levels of depression, and greater happiness are all results from taking some “me time.” Even a short break can pay off! When middle managers were assigned to either take a four-day vacation or to take time off at home, the ones who left town reported more positive effects on their stress and well-being. Those effects continued for up to 45 days.

Summer season is right around the corner! If you haven’t booked a trip, maybe it’s time to treat yourself to a sabbatical. After all, it’s for your own health!

Earth Day is about awareness and appreciation of our planet, its resources, and its environment.

In its early years, Earth Day was little celebrated and little noticed. Now, it is a worldwide event; a reminder to look at the way we live and to live sustainably. Earth Day has led people to plant trees, bike to work, restore wildlife habitat, eat locally grown foods, and make cities greener.

This Earth Day, let’s all consider what we can do to help sustain our planet and be good stewards of our world, for ourselves and our kids. Even the smallest actions can add up to something big.
