WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS… QUITE LITERALLY! 🌧️

The bond market is taking a serious beating this morning, and we’re seeing some major movement in mortgage-backed securities.

Higher oil prices puts additional pressure on inflation, and when the market starts worrying about inflation, the bond yields tend to move higher adding pressure to mortgage rates. We’re seeing that correlation play out today. 🛢📈

And then we have stronger-than-expected economic data adding even more pressure to bonds this morning.

So, yes…

When it rains, it pours.

And judging by the weather outside today, apparently the bond market wanted to make sure we got the full experience too. 😂🌧️

Huge congratulations to these borrowers.

The first is an Army vet. We were able to assist with refinancing to consolidate his debt. Ultimately he received funds while lowering his interest rate.

The second is a first time homebuyer, which we were able to utilize a down payment assistance program for. Seller also provided her a 6% concession to cover all closing costs and prepaids. She ended up getting a couple hundred back at closing all done and said.

This one is going to be one for the 📚

When these clients first came to us, they had already been told that no one could finance the home they wanted. Instead of taking no for an answer, we went to work looking for a lender who could see a way to make it happen.

We had to jump through more than a few hoops, and work through some challenges along the way. But we kept pushing because we knew how much this home meant to them. Knowing everything we went through to get here, made every phone call and every late night absolutely worth it.
