🚗 A new Farmers Auto option is coming to Oregon!

Starting September 19, Farmers® Auto 5.0 will be available for new auto insurance customers in Oregon.

What does that mean for you? More flexibility and more ways to tailor your coverage.

Farmers Auto 5.0 introduces several new options, including:

• $0 glass deductible for covered auto glass losses
• Declining deductibles on eligible Collision and Comprehensive coverage
• Enhanced rental and roadside-related benefits through Auto Extra
• Coverage for things like key replacement, certain pet-related expenses, recreational equipment and more
• Up to $500 of coverage for a portable EV charger
• A Travel Package that can help with certain expenses when an accident or covered disablement occurs while traveling more than 100 miles from home
• New opportunities to save through paperless documents and payment options
• The optional Signal® program, which can provide a discount for enrolling and uses driving behavior to help determine renewal pricing

Eighteen months ago, Pietra and I were given the opportunity to purchase the Pascone Agency. Looking back, I'm amazed at how quickly that time has passed—and even more amazed by how much I've learned along the way.

Owning an insurance agency has been both rewarding and humbling. Every day brings something new to learn, a new challenge to solve, and another opportunity to help someone protect what matters most. I truly enjoy what I do, and that's largely because of the people I'm fortunate enough to work with and serve.

First and foremost, I want to thank our customers. Whether you've been with this agency for many years or have just recently trusted us with your insurance, thank you. We never take that trust for granted. It is a privilege to help protect your families, homes, vehicles, businesses, and dreams.

I also want to publicly recognize Debbie Blake

There are people who simply do their jobs well, and then there are people who make everyone around them better. Debbie has been that person for me. Her knowledge, professionalism, patience, and willingness to share her experience have been invaluable throughout these past 18 months. She has been an incredible mentor and a steadfast member of our team, and I honestly don't know what this transition would have looked like without her guidance.

I'd also like to thank Shawn Reese, whose positive attitude and dedication to taking care of our customers help make our office a better place every day.

One thing we've tried to build is an agency that is genuinely available to our clients. We answer the phone. We return calls. We take the time to explain coverages instead of rushing through conversations. And when someone brings us a situation that seems complicated or difficult to insure, we don't start by looking for reasons we can't help—we start by looking for ways we can.

That commitment has allowed us to help people with everything from everyday home and auto insurance to more unique risks and situations that require extra attention and experience.

As I reflect on these first 18 months, I feel incredibly grateful—for the opportunity, for an outstanding team, and most of all for the relationships we've built with so many wonderful people in our community.

Thank you for allowing the O'Brien Agency to earn your trust. We don't take it lightly, and we'll continue working every day to be the kind of agency that is easy to reach, easy to work with, and always ready to help.

According to Farmers, the new brand campaign is built around a simple promise:

The idea is to make insurance easier to understand by emphasizing clarity, transparency, and straightforward conversations—helping customers know exactly what they have, what they don't, and what options are available. As part of that effort, Farmers is introducing simpler coverage explanations and encouraging regular policy reviews with your local agent.

Why pink?

Let's be honest... the insurance world is a sea of blue, red, and more blue. 🌊

Farmers intentionally chose a bold pink identity because it's impossible to ignore. The company says the color reflects its goal of standing apart from competitors while signaling a fresh, more approachable way of talking about insurance.
