🏆 Sherwood Christian Academy Eagle Athlete of the Year 🏆

Flint Community Bank is proud to recognize Tripp Roberts as Sherwood Christian Academy’s Eagle Athlete of the Year. 🦅

The award was presented by Flint Community Bank team member Rhonda Stewart during a Sherwood Christian Academy awards ceremony held Thursday, May 14.

Tripp has been a standout multi-sport athlete for the Eagles over the past four years, leaving an incredible legacy across football, basketball, and track & field.

🏈 On the football field, Tripp helped lead the Eagles to three state championships in four years as quarterback. He was named 8-Man Football Player of the Year for two consecutive seasons, earned All-Region and All-State honors every year, and set multiple school records along the way. His leadership and performance also earned recognition from WALB, The Albany Herald, and numerous team and school awards.

🏀 On the basketball court, Tripp continued to shine, earning All-Region and All-State honors while surpassing 1,000 career points. He also received multiple team awards, including the Defense Award and Coaches Award.

🏃 In track & field, Tripp competed during his junior and senior years, earning a Region Championship, finishing as State Runner-Up in the high jump, and being named Field MVP.

Tripp’s work ethic, leadership, and dedication have made a lasting impact on Sherwood Christian Academy athletics. Congratulations, Tripp, on an outstanding high school career! 👏🦅

The Cans For Kids Food Drive is all about stocking shelves with kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare meals for families right here in Albany.

We’re proud to celebrate Sydney Newell on her graduation from the University of Georgia!

Sydney plans to take a gap year to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine before applying to vet school. Her passion and focus are already paving the way for what’s next.

During her time at UGA, Sydney maintained all A’s and B’s while tackling a rigorous course load—an accomplishment that speaks to her work ethic and determination.

One lesson she’s carrying forward:
Failure is not the end. It’s what allows you to grow.

Her life soundtrack? “Unwritten”—a reminder to embrace the unknown and step confidently into the next chapter.

Congratulations, Sydney! Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see where it takes you.
