It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Jerry Smith, founder of the Alachua Chamber of Commerce and a true champion of our community.

Fifty years ago, Jerry helped establish the Alachua Chamber, laying the foundation for an organization that continues to support local businesses and strengthen our community today. His leadership, vision, integrity, and commitment to Alachua left a lasting impact that will be felt for generations.

Jerry was highly respected by our Board of Directors, Chamber members, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. We are grateful for his contributions, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind.
