Last week we had the pleasure of hosting the Cincinnati Development Fund in Akron for a day of sharing ideas and comparing notes. Our teams swapped strategies and tactics for strengthening community development in our regions. As our organizations work to continue delivering meaningful impact, learning from peers like CDF is invaluable. We came away with some great ideas that we're excited to pursue. DFA issued $12.7M in tax-exempt revenue bonds for Western Reserve Academy in Hudson. The financing supports the renovation and expansion of Ellsworth Dining Hall and a 16,000 sq. ft. addition to the Wang Innovation Center, where students work on engineering, AI, and entrepreneurship projects. It's the latest chapter in a fifteen-year partnership that also restored Seymour Hall.

A 48,600 SF Akron building is getting a new roof, HVAC, and insulation through PACE financing, with up to $37,500 in annual energy savings ahead.

DFA closed a $539,500 PACE loan toward the $1.5M project at 2550 Gilchrist Road. PACE lets commercial property owners finance energy improvements from $250,000 to $1,000,000, repaid through a special assessment on the property.
