As we move into the warmer spring and summer months, the Town of Akron is encouraging residents to be mindful of their water use and look for simple ways to conserve where possible.
It’s been a dry winter across Colorado, with below-average snowpack. That means less water flowing into the Lower South Platte Basin, which influences water availability across northeastern Colorado and here in Akron over time.
We’re asking everyone to do their part by using water wisely.
One of the simplest and most effective ways to help is by fixing leaks. Even a small drip from a faucet, toilet, or outdoor spigot can waste a surprising amount of water over time.
Small changes across the community can make a big difference:
1) Check your home and property for leaks and repair them
2) Water lawns early in the morning or later in the evening
3) Avoid watering on windy days
We understand that every household is different, and we appreciate any effort you can make. Even small actions help keep our system strong for the entire community.
Thank you for helping take care of our Akron and Washington County community.
