FYI bondsman’s fees and laws

Non-Refundable Fees
• Service charge: The money paid to a bail bondsman (the premium, which can be up to 15% in South Carolina) is an earned fee for their risk and service.
• Case outcome: This premium is completely non-refundable, even if your charges are dropped, dismissed, or you are found not guilty later.
• Collateral: If you put up property or other physical assets as collateral for the bond, that collateral is returned once the case concludes—provided all bond and court conditions are met.
