AN ABSOLUTELY STUNNING FINDING!

As many of you know, we have conducted extensive research into the history of the Monetta Drive-in for its 75th Anniversary this season. It has been a time-consuming endeavor, but ultimately, a labor of love. We have pored through newspaper articles and advertisements, as well as local and state business records and archives. The search for information has been ongoing up to this week.

While reviewing photographs at the state archives in Columbia, we happened across what might be the most astounding picture in drive-in history. Our shock and amazement at what we saw was heart-stopping. We discovered that the Monetta Drive-In is MUCH older than we surmised. In fact, the history of the American drive-in must now be rewritten as the little drive-in in Monetta predates the once-oldest ozoner in New Jersey by decades.

I can now confidently assert that the Monetta Drive-In is not just celebrating its 75th Anniversary, or even its 100th Anniversary. Unbelievably, it is celebrating its 150TH ANNIVERSARY! Yes, there is now conclusive photographic evidence of the Monetta Drive-In in operation in 1876. Director Eadweard Muybridge’s classic film, “Horse in Motion”, is distinctly on a photo identified as “Monetta Drive-In 1876".

We are overjoyed with our new status and thankful to all who have supported us in this hunt for the truth. We send a big shout out to the research staffs of the archives and libraries that we visited. Without their assistance, the REAL history of the drive-in might never have been known.

Several have asked me about the outcome of the hearing aids. I've learned that I sound "different" to anyone I talk with on the phone. I sound different to myself, so that does make sense, but I have clients saying they can't hear me, or that I sound "muffled". I'm trying to work through it. If you've been too polite to comment either way, please be honest so my doctor can help me get adjusted. Love you all.
