Our Story

Cambridge Credit Counseling is a 501(c)(3) non-profit credit counseling agency. We’ve been providing credit counseling and financial literacy education to consumers nationwide since our inception in 1996. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide foreclosure mitigation, rental, pre-purchase, and post-purchase counseling services in our community. In 2010, we were approved by HUD and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs to provide reverse mortgage/HECM counseling to senior citizens. In 2011, Cambridge was approved by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Executive Office for United States Trustees to provide pre- and post-bankruptcy credit counseling and debtor education services to consumers. As of 2014, we offer counseling and document preparation services to consumers looking for assistance with their student loans. Cambridge is a member of the Financial Counseling Association of America (FCAA) and maintains a leadership role in the industry. Through ongoing third-party auditing performed by Bureau Veritas Certification North America, Inc., Cambridge has been certified as conforming to all of the requirements of the “FCAA Code of Practice,” one of the two widely accepted “Best Practices” standards in the credit counseling industry. Cambridge is committed to complying with all state and federal statutory requirements that govern its conduct. Our experienced counselors have acquired and maintained national certifications through the Partnership for Financial Education, NeighborWorks, and HUD. We conduct free financial literacy seminars throughout our service area, in homeless shelters, veterans’ service agencies, correctional facilities, and throughout our local school systems. In 2017, our educators conducted free seminars for 7,716 participants in our area. Visit us online:
