Gleaner Life's Capital Arbor recently teamed up with the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency (MVAA) providing 4,000 essential care items for veterans experiencing homelessness. Thank you for making a difference for veterans in your community!

For the sixth year, Gleaner Life Insurance Society’s Legacy Gleaner Life: Legacy Arbor brought the community together to support students in need, donating more than $1,500 in school supplies, cash donations and gift cards to Adrian Public Schools’ Families in Transition program.

Employees and community members donated supplies valued at about $700, including hygiene products, hooded sweatshirts and classroom materials. The group also collected $520 in cash donations and provided $300 in restaurant gift cards to help students access Wi-Fi.

The program typically assists more than 200 students each year, including those experiencing housing insecurity and other students who may need a little extra support.

As Angela Pooley of Adrian Public Schools shared, “There are so many kids who fall through the cracks.”

We’re proud of our Legacy Arbor members, employees and community supporters for helping make sure more students have the supplies and resources they need to succeed.

Gleaner Life’s Mid Michigan Arbor recently spent a special day with the residents and staff at Close to Home in Bay City! Members enjoyed a fun afternoon of bingo, conversation and lunch from Kentucky Fried Chicken. The residents were thrilled when they saw the food arrive — some even started chanting “KFC!”
