Important Post: I can’t tell you how many times I have heard this statement, “I found insurance online cheaper.” You may have but in most cases when I’ve went online for a quote just to see what other insurance companies are charging the liability automatically populates 25/50/25. For those that don’t know this is state minimum, the lowest you can get. Cheapest is not always better. Let’s break this down if you are in an accident and at fault it would pay $25k out for injuries per person and $50k per incident. Anything over that you are responsible for paying. The last 25 stands for property damage. All your insurance company is going to pay is $25k for property damage. Anything over that you are responsible for. How many vehicles out on the road are worth more than $25k? Most of them and you are responsible for anything over that. Even if you don’t come to me for insurance protect yourself and make sure you have good liability limits. That is what protects you and what you have worked for. People think comp and coll are the most important but it’s not, it’s that liability. With limits at state minimum, it keeps what the insurance company has to payout low and leaves you at risk. Talk to your agent or insurance company about your liability limits and get yourself adequately covered. Life insurance is one of those conversations people tend to shy away from or they say it makes them uncomfortable. Have that conversation with someone you trust. Have that conversation with me. Over many years of selling life insurance I get asked this question the most, what is best term or whole life insurance. My response is always the same, the one that is in force when you need it.
I know a lot of companies offer group life insurance and most of the time it’s cheap. So I always say buy all you can if you are paying dollars on a thousand.
