Rich Marriages

Rich Marriages Does talking about money with your partner create tension or disagreement? For most of us, it does. However, they don’t have to be so difficult.

Whether you are a newlywed and trying to figure out your finances or you are a blended family and need insight on having financial conversations—this is the book for you! What’s Yours Is Mine is a lighthearted yet intimate look at the financial struggles couples face, and a collection of tips on how to be successful. Today, both men and women fill a variety of financial roles, and there are few cl

ear standards for how to maintain a strong relationship in which money doesn’t get in the way of happiness. Stacy believes that because schools generally don’t teach about money and personal finance, we acquire our financial habits and beliefs from our experiences. Those experiences forge our emotional attachments to money, making financial conversations with a partner especially thorny. What’s Yours Is Mine will empower you to find positive ways to communicate about money and will inspire you to reach for your dreams, as well as those of your spouse.

I finally got around to watching "The Big Short" last night. I think I was putting it off because I didn't want to relive that terrible time in 2008 when the stock market was diving and so many people lost their homes. My stomach hurts just thinking about it. What I appreciate about the movie is how they explained the different securities and the underlying issues involved in the housing bubble bursting in an easy to understand way. And I'm glad I watched it at home so Rick and I could push the pause button and discuss! Great acting and great directing!

Adam McKay’s adaptation of Michael Lewis’s account of fund managers who bet against the real estate bubble finds laughs within the crisis.

I'm working on a research project around kids and money. My intern and I are looking to interview 100 kids ages 13-23 about money experiences and how they handle money. If you know an organization, parent, or kid that would like to participate, I would appreciate it! Or if you know a place we can host a table or have an activity at a local event? You can message me or email [email protected]
