At Homespire, we’re celebrating the remarkable women who have shaped the history of our industry and created lasting change in their communities.

A pioneer in the homebuilding industry, Shirley Wiseman made history in 1989 as the first woman to lead the National Association of Home Builders, breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field. Her leadership extended beyond advocacy, as she founded the Home Owners Warranty Corp. of Lexington, KY in 1976 and served as its first president, ensuring stronger protections for homeowners. Committed to creating inclusive communities, she has been a steadfast advocate for disabled Americans, founding Lexington Housing for the Handicapped to provide accessible housing and championing policies that promote greater independence and quality of life.

This Women's History Month, we honor the women whose resilience and vision have paved the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. Their impact continues to inspire generations.

At Homespire, we’re celebrating the remarkable women who have shaped the history of our industry and created lasting change in their communities.

Lisa Hasegawa, former Executive Director of the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development, has spent her career advocating for low-income AAPI communities by advancing housing, economic justice, and civic engagement. A former Community Liaison for the White House Initiative on AAPIs, she continues her leadership through board service with the National Low Income Housing Coalition and LISC. A fourth-generation Japanese-American from California, she is a proud UCLA and Harvard School of Public Health graduate.

This Women's History Month, we honor the women whose resilience and vision have paved the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. Their impact continues to inspire generations.

At Homespire, we’re celebrating the incredible women who have fought for housing equality and took bold action to protect the rights of those overlooked in America’s housing system.

One of these trailblazers is Catherine Bauer, a fierce advocate for affordable housing. Her groundbreaking book Modern Housing (1934) helped shape national policy, and her work led to the American Housing Act of 1937, which provided subsidized housing for low-income families for the first time.

This Women's History Month, we honor the women whose dedication and advocacy have paved the way for more equitable housing opportunities. Their impact continues to shape our industry and the lives of countless families.
