At Homespire, we’re celebrating the remarkable women who have shaped the history of our industry and created lasting change in their communities.
A pioneer in the homebuilding industry, Shirley Wiseman made history in 1989 as the first woman to lead the National Association of Home Builders, breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field. Her leadership extended beyond advocacy, as she founded the Home Owners Warranty Corp. of Lexington, KY in 1976 and served as its first president, ensuring stronger protections for homeowners. Committed to creating inclusive communities, she has been a steadfast advocate for disabled Americans, founding Lexington Housing for the Handicapped to provide accessible housing and championing policies that promote greater independence and quality of life.
This Women's History Month, we honor the women whose resilience and vision have paved the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. Their impact continues to inspire generations.
