Preparing to never retire can be a dangerous retirement plan. Here are four potentially better retirement strategies.

Planning to never retire is a dangerous retirement plan. Even if you don’t want to retire, you may not be able to continue working through no choice of your own.

Human beings rarely act until they feel compelled to.

Unfortunately, in financial planning, that moment often comes after a catastrophic event, a serious illness, or later in life when someone finally feels “ready.”

By then, the damage may already be done. An injury or illness could make you uninsurable. Your age could make protection significantly more expensive. Or you may have missed decades of potential compound growth by waiting to invest.

The best time to start planning was before anything happened. The second-best time is now.

Be willing to admit that you don’t know what you don’t know—and sit down with a financial professional who can help you understand your options.

It can start with one simple, painless conversation. Your future self will thank you.

“I’ll get to it someday” can be one of the riskiest financial decisions you make.

Retirement planning takes time—not just to save, but to adjust your strategy, manage taxes, and allow compound growth to work in your favor. Life insurance planning is also easier and often more affordable while you’re younger and healthier. Waiting could mean higher premiums, fewer options, or no coverage at all.

This isn’t meant to scare you. It’s simply a reminder that time is one of your greatest financial assets—and once it’s gone, you can’t get it back.

The good news? Getting started is painless. You don’t need to have everything figured out, bring a stack of paperwork, or make every decision at once. It can begin with a simple, easy conversation about where you are today and where you want to be in the future.

Your future family will be grateful you started today. If retirement or life insurance planning has been sitting on your “someday” list, let’s talk and turn someday into a plan.

Life insurance can change the legacy of an entire family.

It can mean the difference between a family being forced to sell the home and being able to stay. It can pay off debt, replace lost income, fund a child’s education, protect a family business, or provide the capital that helps the next generation get ahead.

Some of history’s most successful financial families understood the importance of managing risk. In 1824, Nathan Mayer Rothschild helped establish the Alliance British and Foreign Life and Fire Assurance Company—recognizing insurance as an important part of long-term financial security.

Life insurance isn’t only for wealthy families, though. It can help an ordinary family create financial security that might otherwise take generations to build.

You may never see the money your policy provides—but your children and grandchildren could feel its impact for the rest of their lives.

That’s what a legacy is: making decisions today that continue taking care of the people you love long after you’re gone.

If you haven’t reviewed your life insurance recently—or don’t have coverage—let’s talk. The best time to protect your family’s future is before they need it.

As we know, it takes a village to raise a child. AGWSR is fortunate to have a community filled with people who have unique talents, careers, hobbies, experiences, and skills to share with our students.

Our students are hungry to learn, and meaningful learning often happens when we connect classroom experiences to the real world. We are looking for community members who are willing to share their expertise and passions with AGWSR students.

The goal of this resource is to create a community connection directory that staff can draw from when looking for authentic learning opportunities. These opportunities could include:

Short job-shadowing experiences

Visiting a classroom to share an area of expertise

Hands-on demonstrations

Career or hobby presentations

Business or workplace tours

Mentoring or project support

Helping students explore real-world problems or experiences

You don't have to be an expert or a teacher—just willing to share what you know and love. Together, we can provide students with authentic experiences that make learning more meaningful and help them see the many possibilities within their own community.

If you are interested, please complete the form. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to Koby Capper at [email protected]. If we find a classroom connection to your passion, we will contact you to see if we can make something work with your schedule. Thanks for considering!

The "Serena Williams rule" is all about giving yourself options, rather than forcing yourself into a black-and-white retirement.

Rather than formally retire, Serena Williams sought an "evolution."
