After months of expected interest rate cuts, the Federal Reserve is shifting its focus back to managing inflation. This "higher-for-longer" interest rate environment may present compelling opportunities in short-term fixed income, while equities can continue to be supported by strong and broadening earnings growth. Brian Therien, Investment Strategist, explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.

After beginning the year with markets pricing in multiple rate cuts, a sharply accelerating labor market and energy-driven inflation have meaningfully shifted the outlook toward potential policy tightening — creating a more complex backdrop for equities and fixed income alike. Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.

As investors look beyond Middle East tensions, U.S. economic fundamentals are coming into sharper focus, driven by an accelerating AI investment and robust corporate profit growth, reinforcing the constructive case for equities. However, elevated inflation may keep rate cuts off the table and limit near-term progress in bond markets.

Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.

Honoring Service, Sacrifice, and Those Who Support our Veterans

As we approach Memorial Day, the past several days have been a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made by our military members and the importance of supporting those who have served.

I had the privilege of attending the Military Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Harford County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday. The event was on APG at Top of the Bay. One of the most meaningful moments of the luncheon was when the Gold Star Families in attendance were honored. If you are unaware, Gold Star Families, are those whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our nation.

On Thursday, I was proud to sponsor and participate in the golf tournament benefiting CHEP, Inc. Chep is a non-profit that does incredible work helping homeless and endangered veterans get back on their feet by providing temporary housing and resources.

As Memorial Day approaches, let us remember that this holiday is more than the unofficial start of summer. It is a time to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our freedoms. Their sacrifice, and the sacrifices made by their families should never be forgotten.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Mental Health Awareness is a very important topic to me.

Prior to becoming a Financial Advisor, I was a Police Officer for 15 years. The last 5 years, I was struggling with PTSD eventually being officially diagnosed and leaving law enforcement.

I am open about my struggles because I know how isolating it can be and you think that you are the only one going through it.

It is a passion of mine to work with Veterans, First Responders and anyone going through mental health issues.

I have worked with CHEP, Inc., VFW MD, and Cecil County Firemen's Association helping where ever I can.

I have also seen that finances are one of the first things to be effected when mental health issues arise.

I have helped clients with budgets, debt management and starting a plan for the future. When we work with clients either currently struggling or digging out of the damage from mental health, that small steps in the right direction make a big difference.

Finally, I want to say that if you think you are alone in your struggles, you are not. I have been there and there are many more like you. Please reach out if you are struggling and need to talk to someone you trust or need help digging out of debt caused by your mental health issues.

Therapy isn't a shameful thing and can really help your quality of life.

You Matter and You are not alone.
