Get ready, Grays Harbor! The **Great American ShakeOut** is coming up on **Thursday, October 15, 2026!**
As part of this annual earthquake preparedness event, tsunami warning sirens along Washington's coast will be activated for testing.

🔊 **WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?**
If you're near one of our coastal tsunami warning sirens, you may hear them sounding during the scheduled test. **There is no need to panic — this is a planned exercise, not an actual tsunami warning.**
🌎 **WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?**
Living along the Washington coast means earthquakes and tsunamis are real hazards we need to be prepared for.
The Great American ShakeOut is an opportunity for families, schools, businesses, and communities to practice what to do when an earthquake strikes.
✅ **DROP** to your hands and knees.
✅ **COVER** your head and neck under sturdy furniture if possible.
✅ **HOLD ON** until the shaking stops.
🌊 If you're near the coast and experience strong or prolonged earthquake shaking, remember: **Don't wait for a siren!** Once the shaking stops, move immediately to high ground or inland, away from tsunami hazard areas.
