FAITHFULNESS IS GOD'S MEASURE OF SUCCESS

The temptation of stewards is to squander or waste what God has entrusted to them.

For instance, the prodigal son took his inheritance and wasted it all. (Luke 15:11-32)

Elsewhere, a master left a servant in charge of the estate but found the servant mistreating workers and partying. (Matthew 24:45-51)

As stewards, we need to examine our stewardships so God will find us doing what He told us to do.

In the end, faithfulness is the measure of success in our stewardship.

God doesn’t look at the fatness of our bank accounts, the possessions in our names, the awards of our achievements or the popularity of our brands.

None of these will count in eternity. He simply wants us to be faithful stewards of the much or little He has placed in our care.

12 DANGERS OF DESIRING RICHES FIRST & FAST

#2: The Love Of Money Leads To Many Evils

The desire to get rich and the love of money leads to all kinds of evil, shipwrecks our faith and brings grief. (1 Timothy 6:10)

Greed is the foundation of the three deadly categories of sins – the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. (1 John 2:16-17)

#3: Quick Money Is Squandered Fast

Money that comes fast disappears fast. (Proverbs 13:11)

Most lottery winners become worse off because they weren’t prepared for much money. It’s better to grow wealth little by little.

#4: Riches Don’t Bring Happiness & Peace

Money does not bring happiness but attracts false friends to help you squander it. (Ecclesiastes 5:10-11)

The most beautiful and genuine smiles are not found in rich neighbourhoods in the city but in small villages.

The rich cry too. They get depressed too despite their access to everything they need. True happiness, peace and joy come from knowing God and our 7 identities in Christ.

THE BEST BENEFIT OF BEING TRUSTWORTHY

Because money is powerful and it tests our character, God entrusts true spiritual riches to those who pass the stewardship test of money and the other 8 resources.

Jesus said, “And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven?” (Luke 16:11)

In other words, our mishandling of finances is a sign of spiritual immaturity and unreadiness to understand and be entrusted with the true riches of heaven that are more precious than worldly wealth. Isn’t this profound?

Unresolved money issues can be a hindering stronghold in our minds and a stranglehold in our service to God.

And the lure or deceitfulness of wealth and cares of this world choke God’s Word rendering us fruitless like the seeds that fell in thorns. (Matthew 13:22)

May God help us to be FAITHFUL stewards of the 9 resources he has entrusted to us. Or else we won't be trusted with TRUE RICHES!

#9: Victim Mentality

People with poverty mentality always feel like victims – of circumstances, upbringing or government actions! They complain about what others did to them rather than take action and find solutions for their problems.

They’re bitter, unforgiving and angry because of what people did to them or because of unexpected circumstances. This is a high-level kind of poverty because these negative emotions hurt the ones who harbour them and not the ones they’re directed to.

It’s a total waste of time to hate another person or become bitter because of what they did or didn’t do. Yes, people will hurt us but we must never let them control us or give them space in our minds for a long time.

As the sun goes down, so goes our anger or unforgiveness toward any person. (Ephesians 4:26-27)

Why worry or be angry at circumstances you had no control over?

Even when you make mistakes that cost you dearly, it’s important to forgive self, learn from the experiences and move on with life.

Life is too short to wallow in anger, bitterness and anxiety.

I'm guilty of the poverty mentality in this article but the good news is that I'm working on overcoming it step by step 😔

You can take a villager to the city but you can’t easily take the village out of him without a change of mindset and experience. 🤷🏽‍♂️

In the same way, a person’s economic and spiritual status can change but stay stuck in the thinking and habits of the past.😊

Which of the 10 signs do you see in your life now?🤔

It's time to be set free from every trap of poverty mentality. 🕺🏽🕺🏽

I welcome your feedback on this article.🙏🏾

Shalom.

#4: Mental Poverty

Whether you realize it or not, what you believe about money will determine the quality of your life here on earth and reward in heaven.

People with mental poverty make little or no investment in personal and professional growth. They’re mostly occupied with entertainment, celebrity news and social media. They think buying books, taking courses and attending seminars is a waste of time and money. So, they remain professionally and financially illiterate and stagnant.

They see no need to get mentorship from those who have succeeded. They think success in personal finance or business is luck or a special favour from God.

And rather than learn from the Bible or get a mentor or coach, a Christian would rather fast or go for deliverance services and expect God to bless them out of nowhere. But the truth is, the experiences of godly mentors (written down in books or teachings) can be helpful and those who learn from them save time and money.

We must cultivate our brains with the study of good books, watching educative documentaries and enjoying clean entertainment so they can be creative, sober and guarded against deception and lies.

How much have you read on godly financial management? If you’re involved in business, have you made research on how to start and run a successful business?
