EVER COME ACROSS A MESSAGE YAHOO ACCOUNT CLOSURE?
This is a common 'phishing scam' attempting to get your log-in information for criminal financial fraud or identity theft. NEVER ever enter password or account details for any account except on the proper bookmarked log-in site. Do NOT click the link - delete the mail!
Yahoo mail has NO limits on storage, and will only be cancelled for inactivity of 6 months or so of not signing in or serious abuse of the account (like spamming). Authentic Yahoo mail will:
- have the Y! icon in the From area
- come from an .yahoo.inc. com address
- address you by your account username, not a vague 'Dear Customer' or 'Dear User'
- never ask for log-in information (You have already signed in!)
Just to be very sure your computer is not infected, (which is very unlikely, but a wise thing to do),run both an anti-virus and spyware/malware scans, updated and separately - even more than one malware scan, or Trend Micro's Housecall for an online a-v scan.
If you cannot download to your own machine, download and save on a clean computer, and transfer the executable file to a flash drive to use for your own ...
*** in 'Safe Mode with Networking' is the only truly effective method. Re-boot into Safe Mode for each separate scan.
