RFP TO DEVELOP VALUE PROPOSITION FOR TEA AND DIARY AGRICULTURAL VALUE CHAINS IN WESTERN UGANDA

BACKGROUND
FutureLink Technologies (FLT) is a Financial Technologies and ICT Solutions company that leverages on the relevance of SACCOs to minimise cost, promote the adoption and usage of digital financial services in both rural and urban communities. FLT provides core banking system services to Savings & Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS) and Microfinance Institutions. Through its MSACCO Mobile Banking switch, FLT father enables the customers of the SACCOs and MFIs to transact conveniently and cheaply through the phone. Currently, the company has a network of 230 SACCO branches with total membership of 450,000

With support from Mastercard Foundation Fund for Rural Prosperity (FRP), FLT would like to automate two Agricultural Value Chains in Uganda. The Tea and Diary Agricultural Value chains have been selected for this purpose. FLT is seeking the services of an experienced Agricultural Value Chain consultant, to carry out a research in Western Uganda, and provide a report detailing what user requirements and benefits must be met for each stakeholder involved in the Value Chains.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

a) Conduct a research in Western Uganda and profile all Agro Inputs and supplements Providers of Tea and Diary Farming, with specific emphasis in Kijura, Buhweju, Sheema and neighboring districts.
b) Compile the User requirements and benefits of an automated system to the Agro inputs and supplements providers above.
c) Conduct a research in Western Uganda and profile all aggregate buyers of Tea leaves and milk, with specific emphasis on Kijura, Buhweju, Sheema and neighboring districts.
d) Compile the User requirements and benefits of an automated system to the aggregate buyers of tea leaves and milk above.
e) Conduct a research in Western Uganda and profile all Savings & Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOs) serving whose members are Tea or Diary farmers, with specific emphasis in Kijura, Buhweju, Sheema and neighboring districts.
f) Compile the User requirements and benefits of an automated system to the SACCOs serving Tea and Diary farmers in Western Uganda with special emphasis in Kijura, Buhweju, Sheema and neighboring districts.
g) Document process flows of the Diary and Tea Agricultural Value Chains
h) In collaboration with the SACCOs above, Compile and profile all the existing Tea and Diary farmers, with production estimates of each farmer.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
FLT seeks proposals from interested organisations with the following qualifications and experience;
- Masters degree or its equivalent in Financial services, Information systems, marketing and sales, Social Work and Community Development, Artificial Intelligence or Community Psychology
- Experience in Agricultural Value Chain and related assignments, Marketing and sales
