On the 20th February 2009, the idea of establishing Pearl Paper Co. Ltd struck one of the founders of the company."Seated in my rest-room, I wrote my financial plan for over 40 years among which establishing Pearl Paper Company was a major component," says Walugembe J. A series of activities followed conception of
the idea as follows;
# In Sept 2009, we initiated art and design activities of the logo.
# It was immediately followed by writing a vague business plan with a great theme: "Transition to Reality."
designing a Business Plan, we started testing the waters of production and the market.
# On 12th Feb 2012 we made our first final products. However wee lacked a permanent premise for Pearl Paper Inc (PPI) then. We made massive consultation sessions with the business community and whoever was willing to lend us a single ear.
# 22nd Niov 2012 marks the beginning of our official operations for the following events and milestones;
i. We began massive production of over 100 books (counter books) per day. A semi-permanent premise/location was secured on block 322 Namboole-Kireka. Arranged for official company registration which was legally named Pearl Paper Co.Ltd on 7th March 2013. HUMAN RESOURCE AND STRUCTURE
Summary
Our operations, flow of communication /decisions & power to fulfill our mission follows an Organisation Structure of; Board of Trustees (BOT), the Executive Board (EB),6 Directorates, 21 DEpartments and 100 Units.
# Pearl Paper Co. Ltd (PPC) is headed by the Chief Executive Director (CED) deputyised by 2 other officials i.e Finance and Administration. In running the daily operations, the decisions used by the entire company are liberated upon by the EB. The EB is made up of 10 personalities; the CED, DCED (F), DCED (A), FD, PD, MD, HRD,LD, OD and SD.
# Recruitment and Training
PPC carries out 12 serial recruitment and training sessions annually which last 2 weeks every month. We look for technical, competent, professional, experienced managers, executive and staff. MARKETING
Our Marketing strategy is to concentrate on our target market through the following ways;
1. Online: Web-site, emails and social networks.
3. Promotions and Advertising.
4. Publications and Business Directories.
5. Telecommunication method. FINANCE AFFAIRS
The count down to realise our dream and mission requires us to secure a lump sum capital of UGX "Three billion eight hundred sixty four million, three hundred eighty three thousand and two hundred" (3, 864,383.200/=) to set up an initial plant for the core Product lines of the company. This shall be realised in the financial years 2012/13-2016/17 noting that the PPc Financial year begins on 1st JUne YY and ends on 31st May YY. OUTLETS
We intend to open-up 14 major outlets in the 7 sub-regions of each country annually. PHILOSOPHY AND VISION
