“Getting bigger by acting smaller” at AML we have had an opportunity to work and train with very experienced Microfinance gurus-may be this qualifies as gurus too and in April we will be piloting a new agricultural finance product we have code named “coppia prestito”. You see, most financial institutions in Uganda do concentrate on credit all the time but isn’t the farmers major challenges a combination of agricultural management, marketing and credit? We are writing the story and we hope you can hear it soon!!!!

We are all familiar with the images of poverty, a war-torn country that for many years has held the myriad hopes, dreams, and challenges of the Ugandan people. Behind the struggles facing a country trying to rebuild, there is another story unfolding – a story of quiet strength and hope. It is a story of people working together to build an economy from the ground up, and I am proud to say that Awake Microfinance Ltd is positioning itself for a vital role in this effort. Each time I visit our program members;the youths, women and men , I come away infused with optimism and convinced that, despite challenges, Uganda is going to make it
