Namirembe – 20th May 2025 – Church of Uganda’s Kingdom Development Organ (KIDO) initiative has today held a capacity-building workshop for Diocesan KIDO Coordinators from across the Province to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively implement KIDO programs within their Dioceses.
The workshop held at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe, was officially opened by the Rt. Rev. Fredrick Jackson Baalwa, Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Kampala.
Bishop Baalwa emphasized the critical role of the Coordinators in the success of KIDO.
“As Diocesan KIDO Coordinators, you are crucial for the success of this initiative. I encourage you to work together, share best practices, and leverage each other’s strengths to achieve your goals.” Bishop Baalwa said.
The Provincial Secretary of Church of Uganda, Rev Canon William Ongeng noted that KIDO was initiated to drive the Church into a self reliant institution capable of mobilizing resources and supporting its Christians in social economic transformation.
He added, "KIDO plays a vital role in empowering our dioceses to fulfill their mission. I am confident that this workshop will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to make a real impact.”
The training was attended by the Provincial Treasurer, Mr Balaam Muheebwa and several KIDO partners including CIC Insurance Group, Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB), Liberty Insurance and Housing Finance Bank.
