Eid Al Adha also known as the festival of sacrifice is one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic Faith. It Symbolizes the ultimate devotion and submission to God depicting Prophet Ibrahims unwavering Obedience to Almighty Allah's Command.
According to the Story, Prophet Ibrahim faced a test when the Almighty Allah Instructed him to sacrifice his beloved son. Despite this immense difficulty, Prophet Ibrahim prepared himself to fulfill Allah's request. However, Allah was impressed by Ibrahim's devotion and He miraculously provided a lamb for the sacrifice instead.
Eid Al Adha occurs on the 10th Day of Dhul Hijja (10th December of the Islamic Calender) the final month of the Islamic Lunar Calender. Muslims world wide gather for communal prayers held in Mosques and Open Grounds/Squares to foster spiritual unity.
Central to the festivals is the tradition of sacrifice where an animal often often a Lamb, camel or goat is sacrificed to Symbolize Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to Obey Allah.
