1. Letter G stands for GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) na ndio first generation ya mobile phone technology.
Hua inamaanisha spidi ya internet yako ni ndogo sana (86kbps)

2. Letter E stands for EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM evolution) hua inamaanisha speed ya internet yako ni ndogo ila ina afadhali kidogo kuliko G(236kbps)

3. Letter 2G (Second Generation)
Ni generation ya pili ya mobile phone technology ambayo nayo inatumia GPRS system lakini speed yake ni kubwa kidogo than letter G, (154kbps) ila ni ndogo than letter E yaani ipo katikati ya G na E.

4. Letter 3G (Third Generation of mobile technology)
Inatumia UMTS & imebase kwenye GSM system, na ina speed kubwa kuliko hizo (speed yake 386kbps)

5. Letter H stands for HSPA (High Speed Packet Access)
Ni muendelezo baada ya 3G ambayo ina speed kubwa (like 3.2 Mbps)

6. Letter H+ stands for enhanced HSPA, Yaani hii ina speed kubwa zaidi ya H k**a nilivyoielezeainauwezo wa kutransfer data up to 7.2 Mbps, ndio inayotumika kwenye simu nyingi nowadays.

7. Letter 4G (Fourth Generation of Mobile phone Technology) pia inajulikana kwa jina la LTE (Long Term Evolution).
Model hii ndio current kwa sasa ambayo inatumia H+so itakuwa na speed kubwa zaidi (like 14.4mbps to 21mbps)

8. Letter WCDMA stands for Wide-band Code-division Multiple Access.
Inatumia teknolojia ya 3G ila imeongezewa GSM ambayo inaiongezea speed ya kusafirisha data na ndiomaana simu nyingi zimeitumia kabla ya kuja kwa 4G.

*PART 4*

*SPEEEDING UP YOU PC (WINDOWS)*

_14. Always make sure air circulation is adequate to your device. Don’t place your laptop on a pillow or on a surface that hinders free circulation of air to and from your pc. This could cause your pc to perform slowly and eventual overheating could kill major components of your pc._

_15. If you use a laptop; you can set it to perform at maximum speeds, by going to control panel> power options> [On the right side 2nd Choice] change plan settings> advanced setting>Change advanced power settings> from the pop up window, set it to high performance, then OK._

_16. Avoid at all cost using Microsoft Internet Explorer and don’t use Chrome either, try to use Mozilla Firefox browser as much as possible. Internet explorer has too much vulnerabilities hence being used by spywares and hackers, when you run it, you introduce a lot of security risks to your system and lag of speed when you browse. Chrome belongs to google, problem with it is that it spies on you a lot. YES, chrome spies on YOU_ 😳

_17. Whenever you are browsing the internet be extremely cautious of the links you click. Nowadays internet is b***y trapped by extreme malwares. If you use the like of Facebook, google; then sign out whenever you are done with them. Thereafter Is when you continue browsing to other sites. If you don’t sign out they follow you in whatever you do, building up a complete profile about what you do online and sending to their servers, it also slows down your browsing speed and eating your bandwidth._

_18. The graphics and images attached to most website have something called trackers. If you use Mozilla Firefox browser, you can install a plugin called *adblock* plus. This plugin when enabled will prevent those ads from appearing and tracking you. If you are a real paranoid, then there are other advanced methods, anybody is interested let me know. We can cover them here under an upcoming topic called *SECURITY AND STAYING SAFE* ]_

*Today We will stop here;*
STAY SAFE ⛔

*PART 3*
👇
*SPEEDING UP YOU PC (WINDOWS)*

10. To ensure that your pc boots very fast; In your pc’s bios option, you should always have your internal HDD come first in the list of boot devices; this cuts down the time it takes for your PC to find boot file sources.

11. If you use your computer frequently, you don’t need to shut it down, just set it to HIBERNATE; With this option enabled, it takes less time to have it back on, you can hibernate with all your files and applications on. Another benefit of hibernation is that; in case you get infected or something goes wrong with your programs; it doesn’t come to effect immediately. (this means; if there are any system changes, they won’t be enforced fully, till complete computer reboot- new registry instructions are mostly written when computer boots up, so if you just hibernate, most harmful changes to your system may not happen).

12. If you don’t need to use Java and Flash player, don’t install them. Java is widely used in most devices, but you may NOT need it. Java and flash player are the most hacked applications. Java creates a platform for other malware to operate easily. Flash player creates holes for hackers to gain access to your pc. compromising your speed, infecting you with malwares and stealing your data.

13. If you have less than 4GB of RAM and are using Windows prior to Windows 10, you may have to disable the flashy visualization to gain some speed. This is done by going to System>Advanced System Setting>Advanced>Settings>Visual Effects>Adjust for Best performance>OK>OK

Also you should disable generation of thumbnails on your pc by going to [in Win 7]: - Windows explorer>Organize>Folder and search options>View>(Files and Folder)Always show icons and never thumbnails>OK> --- this will reduce the load of processing images whenever you browser a folder

*Today will stop here;*

*How busy is your device or how resource hungry it is?*

This what we are going to deal with today.

When your device boots up(i.e is switched on); Different applications and services are loaded to the memory. Most of these services use alot of resources and hinder your most productive applications from performing to their peak. We will see how to deal with that. And make you pc run as new always!
_1. Do not install more than one antivirus in your device._
_2. Make sure you have installed all the required drivers for your pc and most important the VGA drivers_
3. Maintain minimum free space on your Hard Disk which is not less than twice the size of RAM. i.e *if you going to fill your hard-disk don't fill it to more than twice the size of your* *RAM. In other words, If your RAM is 4gb, then Always 8GB of free space should be on your HDD* !
Why the above👆?
There is a file called _swap file_ in windows OS, which is always created in you HDD. the file size is equals to the amount of RAM of pc!

The contents of the
RAM alternates from RAM to The HDD, As the load increases. So if you fill up all your HDD then this won't happen and your pc will grind to a snails speed.
_4. If you have a small amount of RAM say 1Gb, increase it manually to 4Gb by adding additional amount of swap onto your HDD_ *I will show you This later*
_5. If you have a bigger amount of RAM 8Gb and above you can do away with swapping back and forth, so everything is done in the RAM itself. *NOTE* . Reading information from RAM is more efficient and blazingly fast. You can do this by disabling swapping!_ *I will show this to you later*_
*PART TWO continues down here* 👇

*Speeding up your devices(Windows Pc)*

_6. If your are NOT using internet, disconnect it. since the current computers give high priority to connectivity and a penalty to your other applications, also there are perpetual applications that keep using your resources to make communication with unhealthy hosts i.e (spy-wares, virus, NSA and the like. Thereby leaking your information, consuming your bandwidth and slowing down your PC)._

_7. If you don't do graphics in Windows pc and you have less than 1 GB of RAM then you must UNINSTALL the big size fonts and reduce the amount of Fonts. Eliminate the one you don't always use . Because they get loaded always in memory for no particular use hence overloading your pc._

_8. Don’t install those screen savers that keep transitioning on your desktop. They harbour spywares and also eat your resources(Bandwidth, RAM, Processor Cycles)_

_9. If your are going to purchase additional RAM. Purchase them in POWERS of 2 as (1, 2, 4, 8, 16,32 etc) *NOT* (3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 ETC) GB and should be of the same kind and speed. RAMs have different speed_ .
