And just like that, the GirlCode Hackathon 2026 has come to a close.
What started with ideas, curiosity and ambition culminated in an inspiring showcase of innovation, creativity and problem-solving by a remarkable group of young women.
The final day was led by our Chief Operating Officer, Oscar Mwamfwagasi, and Chief Information Officer, Emmanuel Mwinuka, who joined the young innovators as they brought their ideas to life, refined their solutions and pitched their concepts. Their leadership and engagement added valuable perspective to an inspiring day of innovation and collaboration.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners, Sndbx Spaces, Sahara Ventures, Neurotech and Snippe, for their contribution to making this experience possible. We also thank our colleagues for their invaluable support throughout the hackathon, and GirlCode Tanzania for their continued commitment to empowering young women through technology, innovation and opportunity.
A special congratulations goes to Team Rafikis, the winners of the GirlCode Hackathon 2026, for pitching an innovative idea and demonstrating creativity, collaboration and strong problem-solving throughout the challenge.
This is more than a hackathon. It is a platform for young women to explore possibilities, challenge conventions and turn ideas into solutions.
