I love Nigeria.

I always will.

But loving your country and preparing for the future are not opposites.

Sometimes the best way to protect your family is by creating more options, not fewer.

That’s the decision I made.

If I could give one piece of advice to Nigerians who have the means…

It would be this:

Have a Plan B.

Whether that’s a second residency, another citizenship, or investments in different countries.

For me, it was never about running away from Nigeria.

It was about creating more options for my family.

Preparation isn’t fear.

Preparation is responsibility.

One thing I’ve realised is that responsibility can completely change a person’s mindset.

For me, it wasn’t pressure.

It was purpose.

Knowing that my family depended on me pushed me to become a better version of myself every single day.

Looking back, getting married young and becoming a father changed the way I saw life.

It gave me a mission.

It gave me responsibility.

It gave me people who depended on me.

That changed the way I worked, the way I thought, and the way I planned my future.

For me, purpose became the biggest source of motivation.

When people think about studying abroad, they usually think about the UK, Canada, or the US.

But Türkiye is quietly becoming one of the most interesting options.

Good universities.

Affordable tuition.

A vibrant student life.

Sometimes the best opportunities aren’t the loudest ones.

One thing that surprised me after moving to Türkiye was how many international students I met.

Especially from Africa.

The reason is simple.

High-quality education.

International universities.

And tuition that’s often much more affordable than many other popular study destinations.

If you’re considering studying abroad, Türkiye deserves a place on your list.

Honestly…

The traditions.

The food.

The conversations.

The way people enjoy being together.

Those little details say a lot about a culture.

The more time I spend in Türkiye, the more I realize something.

It’s the little things.

The way breakfast is shared.

The way friends gather around a mangal.

The attention to detail.

The hospitality.

It’s those small moments that slowly make you fall in love with a place.

Sometimes a country’s culture isn’t found in its landmarks.

It’s found around its dinner table.
