Democrat Youth Platform (DGP) is a platform for young people, which has been established with the purpose of assembling hundreds of various young NGOs serving in Turkey for the benefit of young people and making it possible for these organizations to contact with one another, work cooperatively and to sign partner projects. Basically, with its mission of being a skeleton for young people to work t
ogether, Democrat Youth Platform provides a sort of coordination and communication among youth formations. It incorporates Youth NGOs, Youth Assemblies, Student Federations and Student Clubs and aims to build a common cultural cooperation area for those youth institutions. DGP intends to enable young people to be represented and to take an active role in political and social scenes, as well as to follow a coordinated policy, and in this way, to increase their domains. It is the initial mission of DGP that young people come up with ideas in the issues related to the youth and these ideas can be conveyed to the political decision-makers, which will affect the communities both locally and internationally. In this sense, by centralizing on research and development, its target is to make it available for young people to able to speak for them. For DGP, helping young people reach an active influence area while enabling them to share their views particularly on the subjects about the youth, and also about the important issues of Turkey in general is one of the most significant objectives waiting to be achieved. Moreover, DGP believes that the representation of Turkish young people in the international sphere, and the necessity of sharing ideas with young people all over the world is a must for understanding the international trends. In short, its target is to articulate Turkish youth with the world, on the other hand, to preserve all its values originating from its history. As the last thing, the principles of Democrat Youth Platform can be superficially referred as democracy, basic rights and liberties, freedom of thought and faith, mutual understanding and justice.
