A glimpse into Istanbul history
Around 1700 years ago, the city of Istanbul was appointed as the capital of Eastern Rome. This decision was made on account of the vastness of the ancient Roman Empire and the problems thereof by Constantine and named Constantinople. About 1000 years ago Seljuk Turks invaded Turkey and capturing Ankara and the eastern parts of Turkey was on the go. Later on, the migration of Muslim Turkmen tribes from eastern Iran to Asia Minor followed. And finally, about 700 years ago, the Ottoman dynasty was started by one of the leaders of these tribes named Osman. Finally, the defeat of Germany in the First World War put an end to the Ottoman Empire accordingly.
