Today, the wife and children of our client came to the Chiang Mai office to collect a 1,000,000 THB cash check. ✨

In this case, the client had purchased a Critical Illness Legacy Insurance policy worth 1,000,000 THB. Sadly, they passed away due to sudden heart failure. After a thorough review of their health history with no evidence of non-disclosure, the insurance company approved the full claim of 1,000,000 THB immediately.

Coverage Amount: 200,000 THB

Once eligible, expats are assigned to a designated public hospital, where they can access healthcare services, including consultations, prescriptions, and surgeries.

While public healthcare is affordable, it may not meet the expectations of expats accustomed to Western-style medical care. Overcrowding is common, and non-Thai speakers may encounter communication challenges. Moreover, treatment options may be limited compared to private hospitals, and advanced treatments may require referrals.

For basic care or emergencies, public healthcare is sufficient. However, many expats purchase additional private insurance to complement their public benefits. This combination ensures access to specialized treatments, private hospitals, and better-quality services when necessary.
