Through 8 years 2011-2019, Straits Asset had a great experience in cooperation with UOBAM as the Fund Advisor to manage the Private Equity Fund in Thailand for the government savings bank, which generated the proven track record with yield IRR over 25% per annum successfully.

In this year 2020, we are gladly joining with KTBS, a Korean firm in Thailand, to establish a new private equity target fund size 100mm USD for the investment in ASEAN territory.

Aug 30, 2016 – Mr. Gi-ryong Jung, Special Economic Advisor and Vice Mayor of Busan who led Delegation of Busan Metropolitan City, attended the Smart City Forum organized by ITU and SIPA at Le Meridian Phuket.

During the forum, the bilateral dialogue meeting between Busan and Phuket along with special representatives including H.E. Dr. Pansak Siriruchatapong – (Vice Minister of MICT), Mr. Chamroen Tipayapongtada - (Phuket Governor), MICT senior officers, SIPA, ITU and Straits Asset.

A bilateral meeting agreed that Busan and Phuket will step further for the project. Busan will bring Korean Infrastructure Fund with Korean world-class technologies to contribute and support Phuket Smart City projects. Korean party expressed interests in several sectors such as; Smart Network, Smart Grid, Smart Meter, Smart Energy, and Smart Transportation, etc. - While Phuket will assign a committee to approach the relevant authorities such as; CAT, TOT, PEA, etc. to participate in this project, and Straits Asset will be in charge of investment and financial arrangement.

The cooperation between Busan and Phuket was officially established since the Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak who led Thai economic delegation to visit Busan Metropolitan City on March 21, 2016.
