Ecobank Cameroun celebrates 25 years!

25 years is a long time, and yet, it can also be the beginning of a new chapter.

For 25 years, Ecobank Cameroon has been part of the journeys of Cameroonians: their ambitions, growing businesses, ideas coming to life, new connections and new chapters being written.

It all started 25 years ago.

And this story is part of something bigger.

For 40 years, Ecobank has been building a pan-African story around a simple belief: a more connected Africa creates more opportunities for its people and businesses.

In Cameroon, this vision has come to life through countless stories.

Mbarga. Aissatou. Tagne. Ayuk. And many others.

Different journeys, different ambitions, but one shared desire: to move forward and go further.

As our Group celebrates 40 years, we are also celebrating 25 years in Cameroon, a story built with all those who have been part of it.

And the story is far from over…

25 years for Cameroon. 40 Years for Africa. Always

Karibu Tanzania!

Last week, Group CEO Jeremy Awori and Regional Executive for Central, Southern and Eastern Africa, Josephine Anan-Ankomah, visited Dar es Salaam to connect with our teams, clients and key stakeholders, and see firsthand how Ecobank is driving impact in Tanzania.

The visit began at the Africa50 Infrastructure Acceleration Forum, where Jeremy joined ministers and industry leaders to discuss how strategic financing can unlock Africa’s next wave of growth.

In Tanzania, discussions with the Governor of the Central Bank, local Board members and clients focused on turning market opportunities into tangible progress.

The visit also brought our people to the centre, with a staff meeting covering career growth, digital transformation and our shared vision. Local squad teams showcased new projects, followed by a visit to the branch where Jeremy and Josephine experienced the solutions and customer journey firsthand.

From continental discussions to branch-level innovation, the visit reinforced the importance of staying close to our markets, clients and people.

Asante sana, Ecobank Tanzania, for the warm hospitality and inspiring energy!

Next stop: Malawi, continuing the journey and the conversations across our markets.

A familiar voice does not always mean you know who's calling.

The next step is knowing how to protect yourself.

Today, fraudsters can use AI to create voices that sound just like someone you trust. They may ask you to make an urgent payment, share confidential information, or act quickly without giving you time to verify the request.

Before you act, remember three simple steps: Stop. Verify. Confirm.

Always verify unexpected requests through an official or trusted channel. A familiar voice is no longer proof of identity.

History made at the London Stock Exchange!

Today, Our Group Chairman Papa Madiaw Ndiaye and GCEO Jeremy Awori, alongside senior leaders joined partners and stakeholders at the London Stock Exchange to ring the opening bell.

We were thrilled to celebrate the successful pricing of our groundbreaking Sustainability-Linked Nature Bond—the very first of its kind from a commercial Bank aligned with ICMA (International Capital Market Association) guidelines.

This milestone isn't just a win for Ecobank; it’s a massive leap forward for sustainable finance across Africa. The bond will support financing across sustainable agriculture, Agri-processing and nature-related infrastructure in African markets. This includes activities across agricultural value chains, from primary production to the processing of commodities such as cocoa, coffee and rice, alongside essential water, sanitation, and irrigation infrastructure.

By tying our financial instruments to verifiable nature and biodiversity targets, we are proving that economic growth and environmental stewardship can go hand-in-hand.

A huge thank you to our investors, partners, and the incredible teams who made this historic achievement possible. Together, we are financing a greener, more resilient future for our continent.

African SMEs deserve more than one day of celebration.

They create jobs, strengthen communities and turn ambition into impact every day.

On SME Day, Ecobank celebrates their essential role in shaping Africa’s future.

And throughout the month ahead, we will continue to support them through Ecobank SME Month, with initiatives designed to help SMEs access finance, adopt digital solutions, build capacity and grow beyond barriers.

A day to celebrate. A month to keep supporting.

Throughout June, we have shared stories of African entrepreneurs turning ambition into impact, building businesses, creating jobs and strengthening communities.

Today, on SME Day, we celebrate the SMEs powering Africa’s everyday economy. They drive innovation, support livelihoods, serve communities and shape the future of our continent.

And the celebration continues.

Over the coming month, Ecobank SME Month will carry this momentum forward across Africa, mobilising our pan-African reach, platforms, people and partnerships to help SMEs access finance, adopt digital solutions, build capacity, gain visibility and grow beyond barriers.

From customer engagement sessions and branch activations to market outreaches, digital onboarding drives, SME education and business conversations, we will continue celebrating, empowering and supporting the entrepreneurs moving Africa forward.

Because Africa’s SMEs deserve more than a day of recognition.

They deserve a continent behind them.
