How is transforming the ECOWAS region?
By financing strategic projects to enhance infrastructure development and trade within the subregion.
The President of EBID and the Honorable Minister for Economy, Planning and Cooperation of the Republic of Senegal signed on 31st October 2023 at EBID’s Headquarters in Lomé, Togo, two loan agreements granting XOF 65 billion to the Government of Senegal.
◼The first facility extended is a XOF 15 billion loan to finance the second phase of the Tivaouane-Mekhe section of the Dakar-Tivaouane-Saint Louis motorway construction project. The loan is intended to augment the XOF 60 billion financing previously granted to partially fund the initial phase of the motorway construction project.
◼The second loan facility of XOF 50 billion was granted for the partial financing of the integrated development of roads and other network projects in District IV of the urban town of Diamniadio.
Both projects are in line with the Bank's strategic objectives of supporting infrastructure projects that will promote economic integration in the sub-region, in accordance with its 2021-2025 Strategy.
