The different kinds of loans we have are:
1. Long Term Loan: A member is allowed to borrow up to twice his/her savings. The loan is used for business and development purposes and the interest rate is 1.45% per month. Maximum loan limit is E150,000.00
2.Short-term Loan: 2.1 Short Loan ordinary - Members can borrow up to E2, 000.00 at the interest rate of 10% per month, payable in 3 months.2.2 Short loan Likusasa – This is for members that participate in the Likusasa savings product, and a member is allowed to borrow up to E3, 000.00, payable in 4 months at the interest rate of 8% per month.
3. Emergency Loan: Emergency loans are designed to cater for unforeseen events such natural disasters, imprisonment, funeral and hospitalization. Maximum loan is E5, 000.00 payable in 12 months at the interest rate of 1.45% per month.
4. Special Loan – Members can borrow up to E10, 000.00, payable in 24 months at the interest rate of 2% per month. Purpose is to address any special needs. The loan is capacity based and members who meet the 33% statutory deduction limits are considered to be in good standing.
5. School Loan – Members that participate in school savings, are allowed to borrow up to E10,000.00 payable in 12 months still at 2% per month.
N.B. A member is eligible for loans after a period of 6 months continuous and active participation in savings and or investment products.
