VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – Accountant
Frontier Microfinance Limited is a privately owned institution providing microfinance services to low income people in South Sudan on a sustainable basis. Frontier Microfinance Limited is inviting applications from South Sudanese nationals of good character to fill the position of Accountant. The successful candidate will be based in Magwi with a possibility of being transferred to other areas in South Sudan where Frontier Microfinance Limited has operations.
The purpose of the job is to ensure that proper financial reporting, financial control and financial systems are working and in line with Frontier Microfinance Finance Limited policies and procedures.
Job Summary
• To ensure that the Frontier Microfinance financial policies and procedures are implemented in a standardized manner.
• To prepare all financial reports in respect to accounting requirement and ensure the timely submission of such reports by the General Manager (GM) and the Board.
• In collaboration with the GM and credit officers, oversee the protection of the company’s assets (cash, inventory, etc.) through the enforcement of internal control policies and procedures including ensuring that fixed asset inventories are updated regularly
• To maintain up-to date knowledge of and implement national government requirements and regulations related to financial matters including statutory deductions such as income tax, social security, etc
• Maintain, analyze and reconcile bank statements and various prepaid, accrual and expense accounts.
• In compliance with Company’s policies and procedures and in consultation with the GM and Board, to ensure implementation and review of policies such as authorization limits, cash holding limits, cash movements, credit terms, advance payments, use of bank payment instruments, etc.
• To assist the General Managers in the preparation of operational and annual budgets in line with Company’s financial policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with relevant local laws and regulations.
• To perform any other relevant duties as may assigned by the appropriate authority from time to time
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Diploma in Business Studies,(option in Accounting) or related field from a recognized institution or University
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word , Excel, and financial software
• At least 1-2 years of professional experience in a similar position
• Cross cultural awareness and sensitivity
• Flexible and adaptable to work pressure and changing environment
• Strong interpersonal and team work skills
• Fluency in English (spoken and written)
• Age requirement: 23-30 years old.
