Exciting news from our team. We recently presented at eFleet Day in Slovakia, showcasing our latest innovation in the world of electric vehicle charging.

Our team enhanced our presentation and demo of our instant payment solution for EV charging, which includes integrated charger management, fleet management capabilities and other featues. One of the most impressive features is our terminal-free ad-hoc payment system, which streamlines the payment process for EV charging customers.

But that's not all - we also gave the first-time presentation and demo of our payment terminal solution, which is capable of managing a farm of EV chargers. This solution is set to revolutionize the way EV charging stations are managed, making the process more efficient and user-friendly than ever before.

We're thrilled to be at the forefront of this exciting industry and look forward to sharing more updates as we continue to innovate and push boundaries. Thank you to everyone who attended our presentation at eFleet Day - we appreciate your support and enthusiasm!

Difference between EV-Charging mobile app and EV-Charging payments app.

An EV-Charging mobile app is designed to facilitate the process of charging electric vehicles, providing information such as charging station locations, availability, and pricing. The app may also allow users to reserve charging stations. The main purpose of this app is to provide a convenient and seamless experience for EV owners while charging their vehicles.

On the other hand, a mobile app as a licensed payment instrument by the central bank with EV-Charging payment functionalities is an app that is authorized and regulated by the central bank to perform payment transactions. It may have a range of payment functionalities, such as peer-to-peer transfers, bill payments, and online shopping. However, it also includes the capability of processing payments for EV charging sessions.
This type of app is subject to more stringent regulatory requirements and security standards, as it involves the processing of financial transactions. Users typically need to link financial accounts to the app, which then acts as an intermediary between the user and the charging station operator. The app ensures that the payment is securely processed and settled between the parties involved.

In summary, while both types of apps provide EV charging payment functionalities, the difference lies in their primary purpose and regulatory status. An EV-Charging mobile app is designed to facilitate charging transactions, while a mobile app licensed by the central bank is authorized and regulated to process payment transactions, including those related to EV charging with enhanced functions compared to standard EV-Charging app.

The instant offline payment feature allows payments to be settled instantly, even when there is no data connection available. This is made possible through the use of secure encryption and tokenization technologies, ensuring that transactions can be processed securely and without the need for a network connection.

One of the unique features of Ultima Payments in the EV-Charging industry is its ability to settle payments instantly. When an EV user makes a payment for charging their vehicle, the payment is settled within seconds from the user's account to the charging point operator's account.
This instant settlement feature is a significant advancement in the EV-Charging and payment industry overall. In traditional payment systems, settlement times can take several days, which can create cash flow issues for businesses. However, with Ultima Payments, charging point operators receive their payments instantly, allowing them to manage their cash flow more efficiently and effectively.
Moreover, the instant settlement feature also benefits EV users, who can see the charge cost deducted from their account in real-time, providing them with greater transparency and control over their finances. This enhances the user experience and builds trust in the payment system.
Overall, Ultima Payments' instant settlement feature is a unique and valuable addition to the EV-Charging and payment industry, providing charging point operators and EV users with a fast, reliable, and secure payment solution.

EV-Charging cards are essentially in the same position as fuel fleet cards, which have been part of the fossil fuel sales industry for over 40 years.

In the context of the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), a Payment Institution (PI) license may be required for companies that wish to issue and operate EV-charging cards that enable customers to pay for charging services at electric vehicle charging stations.

Under PSD2, a Payment Institution is defined as any legal person that is not a credit institution but carries out payment services as a regular business activity. This includes services such as payment initiation, account information services, and issuing payment instruments.

If a company wishes to issue payment cards for the purpose of paying for electric vehicle charging services, they may be considered a Payment Institution under PSD2, and will need to obtain a PI license in order to operate legally.

The requirements for obtaining a PI license can vary by country, but typically include meeting certain capital requirements, having appropriate risk management systems in place, and complying with various consumer protection and anti-money laundering regulations.

Failure to obtain the necessary PI license when required can result in legal and financial penalties, so it is important for companies operating in this space to ensure that they are in compliance with PSD2 and any other relevant regulations.

As a licensed Payment Institution, Ultima Payments is legally authorized to provide payment services in the European Union (EU), including payment services related to EV-charging and other mobility services.

Under the Payment Services Directive 2 (PSD2), a licensed Payment Institution can offer payment services throughout the EU without the need for additional licenses in each member state. This means that Ultima Payments can legally provide payment services related to EV-charging and other mobility services across the entire EU, as long as they comply with the relevant regulations and requirements.

In addition, as a licensed Payment Institution, Ultima Payments is subject to certain obligations and requirements under PSD2, including the need to have appropriate risk management and security systems in place, and to comply with consumer protection and anti-money laundering regulations.

Overall, as a licensed Payment Institution, Ultima Payments is authorized to offer payment services related to EV-charging and other mobility services throughout the EU, subject to compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
