The Edge Malaysia reported Malaysia's digital economy is on track for 30% of GDP by 2030. The message is clear, going digital is the growth strategy.
Malaysia's MSMEs grew 5.7% in 2025. The national economy grew 5.2%. That's the fourth year running Malaysia SMEs have outpaced the country.
The growth isn't staying local either. MSME exports rose 10.5% to MYR 214.5 billion in 2025, on top of a 31.3% jump the year before.
Here's what doesn't show up in the GDP headline. The moment a Malaysian exporter starts shipping to a buyer on Amazon, Etsy or Alibaba, they stop getting paid in ringgit. They get paid in USD. And if the account that's supposed to receive that USD takes weeks to set up, or the payment has to clear through a chain of correspondent banks first, the seller loses time and margin before the money even lands.
That's the part WorldFirst was built to close. Malaysian exporters get a USD receiving account the same day they complete KYC, so they can start collecting payouts from global customers and global marketplaces like Amazon, Etsy, Alibaba without waiting on a bank to catch up with how fast they're growing.
The growth is already happening. What decides how much of it an exporter actually keeps is how fast they can get paid once the sale is made.
