Recently, our team conducted a Lunch & Learn session at PSA International on quitting smoking naturally and understanding our body better.

What I enjoyed most wasn’t just the sharing —

Part 2 of my interview with Zilong and Claudia.

We asked a very honest question:
What does it really take to survive and do well in the FA industry?

Their answers were surprisingly simple:
• consistency
• emotional resilience
• willingness to learn
• humility
• and the ability to keep showing up even during difficult periods

Not just motivation.
Not just sales skills.

But character.

We also spoke about who may NOT be suitable for this industry.

According to them:
❌ people looking for fast success
❌ people unwilling to grow
❌ people who avoid discomfort and rejection
❌ and people who only focus on short-term money

Because this career is not easy.

But for people willing to learn, serve genuinely, and improve consistently — it can become meaningful and rewarding.

What inspired me most was this:
Even top achievers still focus on growth, not ego.

Until one unexpected accident or illness changes everything.

During our recent LPA (Lasting Power of Attorney) Talk, 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐚 shared real experiences from estate and financial planning — including families who struggled because no arrangements were made beforehand.

An LPA is not just paperwork.
It’s about:
✅ Choosing the right person to care for you
✅ Protecting your loved ones from unnecessary stress
✅ Making sure your wishes are honoured

To make things easier, we also arranged for a doctor to endorse the LPA onsite — making the process faster and more convenient.

Had the opportunity to share alongside Zilong (Multi-TOT) —
where he spoke on a key topic: 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦.

For my segment, I shared 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐋𝐈𝐆).

When I first started, I asked myself:
What kind of team do I want to build?

A team that is sustainable.
A team that doesn’t constantly worry about leads.
A team that attracts the right people.

We tried many approaches before — roadshows, warm market, offshore —
but none gave us consistency.

That’s when we 𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 .

It wasn’t easy at the start,
but we believed it could solve 3 key areas:

✅ Consistent activity
✅ Sustainable business growth
✅ Attracting the right people

Zilong also shared something important —
success is not just about production,
but bringing in the right people and developing them well. And also put in 100% of the effort in making the person succeed too !

“𝐖𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠… 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞.”

Just had a conversation with Claudia before her LPA presentation.

What stood out wasn’t theory —
it was her real experience seeing clients go through situations where no decisions could be made… simply because nothing was prepared.

That’s why she believes strongly in LPA (Lasting Power of Attorney).

It’s not about fear.
It’s about making sure the right person can take care of us when we cannot.

Even the government is encouraging everyone to do it early —
because this is not an “if”, but a “when”.

Simple steps to get it done:

1️⃣ Fill up your LPA and appoint the right donee
2️⃣ Get it endorsed by a certified doctor / psychiatrist / lawyer
3️⃣ Submit to OPG
(Singaporeans: free | PR & foreigners: small fee)

Simple process.
But it makes a big difference for our family.
