A year ago, Angel made the brave decision to leave her engineering career and step into financial services.

Like many mid-career switchers, there were uncertainties, new things to learn and plenty of challenges along the way.

Mandarin isnโ€™t my strongest language.

I still took the stage for our lunch talk this week โ€” 3 days of rehearsing, line by line, because thatโ€™s what I ask of my team too.

Hereโ€™s what most people get wrong about leadership: they think itโ€™s about giving the order and stepping back to see who sinks or swims.

I donโ€™t believe that.

A leaderโ€™s real job is making sure the person next to you actually knows how โ€” not just what to do, but the confidence that they can do it.

Thatโ€™s why I go first. If I want my team to feel ready to step up, I have to show them what stepping up actually looks like, uncomfortable Mandarin and all.

The teams that flourish arenโ€™t the ones with the loudest boss.

Theyโ€™re the ones where the leader is still doing the work, still learning, still showing up early to push the trolley in before anyone else arrives.

Iโ€™m not the best speaker in the room. Iโ€™ll always be the one who goes first.

What can change in just one year? โค๏ธ

When Yu Ting joined our team about a year ago, she was already an experienced financial consultant.

She wasnโ€™t starting from zero.

But she believed there could be another level of growth for her.

She took the courage to enter a new environment, trusted the process, embraced new ways of working and allowed herself to be challenged again.

One year laterโ€ฆ

COT achieved. ๐ŸŒŸ

And more importantly, she has grown her results to almost 3X what she was previously achieving.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of the numbers, but weโ€™re even more proud of the person behind them.

The willingness to change.

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to celebrate Claudia on achieving her Early COT in July โ€” her 4th Court of the Table qualification! ๐ŸŒŸ

28 years is a long journey.

There have been different seasons, different challenges and many changes in our industry.

But one thing that hasnโ€™t changed is Claudiaโ€™s commitment to her clients.

Even after almost three decades, she continues to learn, improve and push herself to become better.

And perhaps thatโ€™s what makes this milestone so meaningful.

A Brand New Day with 1,500 of our clients & loved ones! ๐Ÿ•ท๏ธโค๏ธ

What a day!

Our recent Spider-Man: Brand New Day Movie Appreciation Event brought together close to 1,500 clients, families and loved ones, spanning almost 8 hours.

It was tiring ๐Ÿ˜‚, but seeing the smiles, families spending time together and our clients enjoying themselves made everything worthwhile.

For me, this wasnโ€™t just about watching a movie.

It was our way of saying THANK YOU.

Thank you for trusting us with your familyโ€™s protection, your future, your retirement and the important milestones in your lives.

And a huge thank you to our Assurance team for showing up, helping one another and giving your time and energy throughout the day. โค๏ธ

Financial planning may be what brought many of us together.

But relationships are what keep us journeying together.

When we started building our corporate engagement journey back in 2024, we honestly didnโ€™t imagine it would become what it is today.

At that time, many people told us it would be difficult.

โ€œCompanies already have vendors.โ€
โ€œHR wonโ€™t have time.โ€
โ€œFinancial consultants canโ€™t add value.โ€

But we keep thinking โ€ฆ

๐‡๐จ๐ฐ ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐ฐ๐ž ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ?

Fast forward to today, and we were honoured to be invited back by ๐๐š๐ง๐š๐ฌ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐œ for the second consecutive year to organise their Wellness Carnival.

That invitation meant a lot to us.

Not because it was another event, but because it reminded me that trust isnโ€™t built in one dayโ€”itโ€™s earned through consistently creating value.

Hearing those words reminded us why we started this journey in the first place.

It was never just about organising wellness events.

Opportunities to make a positive impact on peopleโ€™s wellbeing.

Looking around at our team that day, I felt incredibly grateful.

Grateful that what began as one small decision has grown into something much bigger than I imagined.

Part 2 of my interview with Zilong and Claudia.

We asked a very honest question:
What does it really take to survive and do well in the FA industry?

Their answers were surprisingly simple:
โ€ข consistency
โ€ข emotional resilience
โ€ข willingness to learn
โ€ข humility
โ€ข and the ability to keep showing up even during difficult periods

Not just motivation.
Not just sales skills.

But character.

We also spoke about who may NOT be suitable for this industry.

According to them:
โŒ people looking for fast success
โŒ people unwilling to grow
โŒ people who avoid discomfort and rejection
โŒ and people who only focus on short-term money

Because this career is not easy.

But for people willing to learn, serve genuinely, and improve consistently โ€” it can become meaningful and rewarding.

What inspired me most was this:
