September’s PQP is out - Cat A, B & C have all risen slightly higher than August’s PQP.
If your COE expires in 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 as the savings from renewing early are minimal.
If your COE expires in 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿, should you renew now, or wait?

Assuming COE stays at today's prices, October’s PQP for Cat A & B rises:
Cat A: $127,399 (🔺 $1,753 from August) 📈
Cat B: $130,616 (🔺 $2,781 from August) 📈

While Cat C drops:
Cat C: $91,740 (🔻 $859 from August) 📉

Based on these projections, the potential savings from renewing early in August are unlikely to outweigh the cost of forfeiting the remaining two months of COE for all categories. Additionally, since September’s PQP does not differ significantly from August’s PQP, waiting until September remains a worthwhile option even if October’s PQP turns out to be higher. We therefore recommend 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Food for thought: COE prices are likely to increase in the following bidding cycles due to the upcoming 3-week bidding gap and AutoExpo 2026. Notably, the last Cat E bidding saw prices rise, which suggests dealers may have been buying up COEs to use for the motor show. The new August to October COE quota release saw Cat A ease, while Cat B and Cat C rose. Given the recent drop in COE premiums across all categories, we expect prices to fluctuate around current levels. Based on our current projections, the potential savings from renewing early for 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗔 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕 ($2,828 and $3,804 respectively) are unlikely to outweigh the cost of forfeiting two months of remaining COE, so our recommendation is to 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁. For 𝗖𝗮𝘁 𝗖 ($5,577), however, 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 may still be worthwhile.

Assuming COE stays at today's prices, August’s PQP will rise to:

Cat A: $126,146 (🔺 $2,831 from July) 📈
Cat B: $128,001 (🔺 $3,296 from July) 📈
Cat C: $92,784 (🔺 $4,416 from July) 📈

For it to fall back to July’s PQP levels and lower, July’s 2nd QP must minimally fall by $16,985, $19,776 and $26,495 for Cat A, B & C respectively.

Similarly, if COE stays at today's prices, September’s PQP also continues to rise:
Cat A: $127,643 (🔺 $4,328 from July) 📈
Cat B: $129,008 (🔺 $4,303 from July) 📈
Cat C: $94,501 (🔺 $6,133 from July) 📈

For September’s PQP to fall back to July’s PQP levels and lower, assuming July’s 2nd QP, and August’s 1st & 2nd QP amounts are the same, July’s 2nd QP must minimally fall to:

Cat A: $120,345 (🔻 $8,655.33 from July’s 1st QP)
Cat B: $122,283 (🔻 $8,605.67 from July’s 1st QP)
Cat C: $82,736 (🔻$12,264.33 from July’s 1st QP)

While the latest higher prices may temper some buying enthusiasm in the next bidding exercise, we believe any downside is likely to be limited. A large number of unsuccessful bids from this round, together with the recent SGCarMart Carnival on 11–12 July, could result in more orders being accumulated ahead of the next bidding exercise, keeping COE prices firm.

Based on our projections, we recommend vehicle owners whose COE expires in 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 to renew in 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆. For those expiring in 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, our current view also leans towards renewing in July, although waiting would provide greater clarity. If you're not in a hurry, you may wish to monitor the next results before making your decision.

We've recently received fraudulent SMS messages impersonating LTA. These messages falsely claim that your ERP payment was unsuccessful, and direct recipients to fake websites.

As stated on OneMotoring's website: "LTA will never send payment links via emails or messages, or request payments or banking details through calls, emails or messages. If unsure, call the ScamShield Helpline (1799) to check. You may also install the ScamShield app for added protection against scams."

Stay vigilant, and always verify through the official website before making any payment.

July’s PQP is out - Cat A, B, C & D have all risen higher than June’s PQP.
If your COE expires in 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆, 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿!
If your COE expires in 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁, should you renew now, or wait?

Assuming COE stays at today's prices, August’s PQP still rises:

Cat A: $124,429 (🔺 $6,072 from June) 📈
Cat B: $125,539 (🔺 $4,321 from June) 📈
Cat C: $92,118 (🔺 $9,250 from June) 📈
Cat D: $9,852 (🔺 $415 from June) 📈

What if COE prices fall? For August’s PQP to fall back to June’s PQP levels and lower, assuming July’s 1st and 2nd QP amounts are the same, July’s 1st QP must minimally fall to:

Cat A: $105,631 (🔻 $18,216.43 from June’s 2nd QP)
Cat B: $110,537 (🔻 $12,964.72 from June’s 2nd QP)
Cat C: $65,251 (🔻 $27,750.30 from June’s 2nd QP)
Cat D: $8,743 (🔻 $1,245.78 from June’s 2nd QP)

While COE prices eased slightly this round, the upcoming 3-week bidding break provides more time for orders to accumulate ahead of the next exercise. Thus, we believe COE prices are more likely to rise above current levels than see a significant decline. Our recommendation: 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗡𝗼𝘄.
