Thanks to for the opportunity to share an article I wrote about planning for the unexpected as a single parent. It might give chills to some, imagine I am the only one left and yet I still have to think about the unexpected.
Fear, is something I am learnt and am learning to co-exist with. It will always be there, fear. Instead of not doing anything or ignoring it, I take deep breaths and baby steps in planning for the unexpected events. Instead of letting fear overwhelme me, I am choosing my own fear instead of it choosing me. Why I say that?
I choose the fear, to face the fear of it actually happening and thinking about the various scenarios. Instead of letting fear choose me by crippling me on taking the next step. Either way, fear is present: to create something from the fear I choose to take on, or the fear of the events I shudder to think and render me immobility.
