Today marks exactly 6 years since I started this financial services practice.
What does that have to do with skiing? Well, fun fact: I first tried skiing when I was 18. My mum brought me once, and we never went again because honestly… our family couldn’t really afford it 😂 Skiing was an expensive hobby.
But I’m really glad she brought me that one time, because I fell in love with it.

I don’t know how to explain why I love skiing so much, but I think skiers will understand.
It’s one of the rare times I’m completely offline. Just flying down the mountain, seeing views you probably wouldn’t see anywhere else in the world.
At the same time, it’s ridiculously painful 😂
Steep slopes, scary terrain, burning legs, cramps, and discovering parts of your feet you never knew could hurt.
All that pain, just for that feeling of flying and being completely free.
And maybe that’s why this trip made me reflect a little more.
6 years ago, skiing regularly would have felt like a very expensive luxury.
Today, I’m incredibly grateful that I get to work in a career where I’ve learnt how to build passive income — not just for myself, but for many of my friends through good investments and dividend-paying portfolios.
Over the years, those streams of passive income have become our travel funds, and allowed us to afford experiences like this together.
More importantly, none of this happens without the people who chose to trust me along the way — my clients, friends, mentors and the people I get to work alongside every day.
So on my 6th anniversary in this industry, I guess this is just a small reminder to myself:
Sometimes you only realise how far you’ve come when you get to do the things you once couldn’t afford to do.
Very grateful for these 6 years ❤️
And very grateful Mum brought 18-year-old me skiing that one time 🎿
