For years, fintech has focused on building better infrastructure — faster rails, broader coverage, more efficient cross-border payments.
🔄 That’s now becoming the baseline.
What stood out this week is the shift beyond infrastructure — toward real-world impact and ex*****on.
Across sessions, one clear trend emerged: AI is moving from optimization → to ex*****on.
🤖️ From assisting decisions to selecting, transacting, and completing payments autonomously. And this is where new friction appears:
1️⃣ Payments still rely on human approval flows
2️⃣ Access is built on persistent credentials
3️⃣ Controls are static, not contextual
All of which don’t map well to AI-driven, real-world workflows.
If infrastructure is already in place, then impact depends on how intelligently it’s used.
🙌 Early days, but direction is clear: the next phase of payments is about ex*****on, not just enablement.
