Second Takeaway: Mission (使命）

This experience reminded me of my initial intention for joining this industry - to help as many people as I can. I recall my mentor's statement: "How much impact do you think you can bring to the people you protect when you bring a huge cheque to them and their family? If the family did not have the cheque, it might destroy them." This statement solidified my decision to enter this industry, as I had pursued a social work degree to help more people. Holding onto this belief, I have stayed in this industry for four consecutive years.

As many of you know, rejections in our line of work are as common as breathing. Sometimes, due to our persistence or approach, we may even be scolded or scorned upon. It has not been a smooth sailing journey, and I have broken down countless times, questioning if I am doing the right thing because of the negative experiences I have faced.

However, hearing the story that the speaker shared during the conference gave me the conviction to push even harder and persevere in this career. The speaker recounted a phone call between him and his close friend's wife, informing him of his friend's sudden passing due to cardiac arrest. The speaker was shocked, having had dinner with his friend just hours before, and the wife informed him that she had found his proposal on her husband's table. However, there would be no payout, as the friend had brushed off signing the proposal, claiming that he was too busy. The wife was understandably upset, questioning the speaker's professionalism and asking how they would survive now.

I feel fortunate that I have yet to experience such a situation, and I do not want it to happen to me. This job is not just a job, but a mission to help more people. It is a platform for me to leverage so that when crises happen, families can maintain their current lifestyles and grieve without being pushed into situations where they need to downgrade their lifestyles and ask for donations.

National Chinese Life Insurance Congress Part 1 of 3
This post is long overdue as there is so much valuable information to share from my recent learning trip to the NCLIC. The experience was truly extraordinary and I am excited to share my takeaways. I hope that my reflections will serve as a source of inspiration, not just for myself, but also for those who take the time to read.

Gratitude

One of the speakers emphasized the importance of having a heart filled with gratitude to succeed in this business. I couldn't agree more. Gratitude is key to attracting blessings and opportunities. As I reflect on my journey in this industry, I feel incredibly blessed to have the support and guidance of so many amazing people in my life.

First and foremost, I am grateful for my fiancée , who introduced me to this loving industry. She has been a constant source of support. She joined me on this recent trip, despite the grueling schedule of back-to-back lessons and less than 4 hours of sleep per night, and never once complained. I am incredibly appreciative of her unwavering support.

I am also grateful for my family, who trusted me when I was still new to the industry and allowed me to plan for them. They have been a constant source of encouragement, and always reminding me to take care of myself. They even introduced their friends to me, trusting that I would serve them well.

Third, I am grateful for my clients, who have entrusted me with the responsibility of protecting them and their loved ones. It is an honor to serve them. Their constant referrals have also sustained my business, allowing me to continue serving more people.

Next, I want to express my gratitude to the best boss , who has been very patient with me. Without his guidance, I would not be where I am today. My teammates, who have always been there help and make the office an enjoyable place.

Lastly, I am grateful to be in .sg , which has provided me with the support and resources to grow and succeed.

In conclusion, by expressing gratitude to those around me, I feel truly blessed and hopeful that this love will spread to others.

Past few days was an eye opening experience for me. Before this NCLIC (National Chinese Life Insurance Congress), I was really lost & my road ahead was a blur. However, through this congress, I looked through the eyes of the giants of this industry and found out how much we could help others!
Through this congress, not only did I learn from the giants from this industry, I was also exposed to advisors in Malaysia and forged new friendships. Was really grateful that I went for the trip and the experience I’ve gotten there will help me and my current and future clients so much!
Now, there’s no more fear, there’s a clear direction & I can proudly say that I’m proud to be an AIAFA! To a better future ahead!
