A BIG shoutout to Sidhant Gupta and the Clearbot team on closing a $1.75M Pre-Series A round 𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 ShipsFocus Maritime Venture Studio, Katapult Impact, SGInnovate, 𝗠𝟳 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 and 𝗠𝗚𝗦 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 to accelerate the global expansion of their electric, AI-enabled autonomous vessels.

When we first backed Clearbot, we saw more than robots cleaning waterways. We saw a team reimagining how the fusion of AI, automation, and electrification could drive systemic change across marine infrastructure.

This is the kind of tech we believed in from the early days. Their technology doesn’t just remove pollution from our waterways. It points to where marine infrastructure should be heading in a moment of climate crisis: cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable.

We'd like to introduce our new Venture Partner: Quoc Pham.

Thirty years building hard technology: sensors, fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries, green steel. Most recently co-founder and CTO of Electra, the company that extracts iron from ore at under 100°C, without the furnaces that make conventional steelmaking one of the dirtiest industries on earth.

Now he's with us, asking the questions that protect founders and capital alike: Is this physically real? What's the fastest way to kill the biggest risk? What would make us walk away?

Beyond the frameworks, his real edge is the discipline of identifying “what not to do” early: protecting founders’ time, our capital, and keeping us focused on the few bets that truly matter.
