The Life Insurance Association, Singapore, Academy of Medicine, Singapore and Singapore Medical Association jointly announced some key changes in the private healthcare insurance space today. This is part of the Multilateral Healthcare Insurance Committee’s recommendations that MOH announced earlier in November 2021.

With the changes, patients and policyholders of Integrated Shield Plans will benefit from a wider selection of doctors, while ensuring appropriate care and reasonable charges.

One of the key changes is the launch of the Extended Panel, which allows patients to potentially seek treatment from more than 1,000 panel specialists and enjoy benefits such as co-payment capped at $3,000 (for bills above $60,000).

These are important efforts involving many parties – many thanks to the Multilateral Healthcare Insurance Committee members for their work on this.

IMPORTANT NOTICE :

Following AXA Singapore's acquisition by HSBC, please note the following summary of changes that may be of interest to you.

1. AXA Singapore will cease to underwrite Motor and Commercial general insurance lines by end of Q2 2022.

2. AXA Singapore will cease offering renewal invitations for all in-force policies with an inception/commencement date of 1st July 2022 onwards.
